About the Show:
Once upon a time, Cinderella pines to make a cameo at the ball, Jack (of beanstalk fame) tends to his pet cow, Little Red Riding Hood sets off toward grandmother’s house and a baker and his wife discover they are barren, thanks to a curse from the neighboring witch. They all head into the woods and embark on remarkable journeys that include falling in love, slaying a giant, facing off with a wolf and more. Just when all wishes appear to be granted, a stray magic bean sprouts a second stalk and the giant’s vengeful wife disrupts everyone’s happy ending. Featuring beloved music and classic fairy tale characters, this heartfelt musical explores what happens after “happily ever after.”

Meet the Cast

  • Peter Bailey (Narrator/Mysterious Man)

    Peter is a Washington County native and a 1992 Schuylerville grad. Starting out with Schuylerville Community Theatre, Peter has gone on to perform with Home Made Theatre (The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe), and with Fort Salem Theater (Bright Star, Pirates of Penzance, There’s Still No Business Like Snow Business). Peter holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Wheaton College Conservatory of Music and has taught private music lessons since 1999. When not on stage at FST, Peter enjoys playing guitar in the local band Simple Beggars.

  • Haley Beauregard (Rapunzel)

    Haley is excited to be a part of her first Fort Salem Theater production! After graduating with a BFA in Acting from SUNY Fredonia, she has primarily focused on film and commercial work, which makes returning to her roots on stage all the more refreshing. Most recently she has appeared in the immersive theatre production Tony and Tina’s Wedding (Donna Marsala), Peter Pan A Musical Adventure (Peter Pan), and Pump Up the Volume! (Stacey).   • Rebecca Bourgault (Stepmother)

    Beckie is proud to work with FST after watching many amazing shows here! She enjoys humorous character and dialect work but is also a classical vocalist as well. Favorite roles include Emma Goldman in Ragtime and Mother in Amahl and the Night Visitors. She’s excited to explore even more Capital Region theatre projects. Beckie lives in Averill Park, NY with her husband, three children, a dog and two cats.

  • Patricia Brady (Granny/Giant)

    SHE/HER | Pat is thrilled to be performing in her first production at Fort Salem Theatre with this amazingly talented cast and crew. She has enjoyed 34 years in local theatre and has performed in over 50 productions. Twenty of them were musicals and her favorites were: A Little Night Music (Madame Armfeldt), Company (Joanne), Side by Side by Sondheim (narrator), Cabaret (Fraulein Kost), Sweet Charity (Nikki), Nine (Lilianne LaFleur)). Her favorite non-musical productions were: Ripcord (Abby), Living on Love (Racquel), Rebecca (Mrs. Danvers), Over the River and Through the Woods (Emma), Suddenly, Last Summer (Violet Venable), BOCA (Elaine), Other Desert Cities (Polly), Murder on the Orient Express ( Princess Dragomiroff), The Curious Savage (Ethel), The Man Who Came to Dinner (Daisy). Pat has also written and performed in three one-woman shows for the benefit of cancer patients and the Schenectady Civic Playhouse. She also sang the great American songbook for a year at The Van Dyck with the greatest accompanist in the world, Rennie Crain. Pat is a physician assistant, and just recently retired after 25 years as a PA in cancer care with New York oncology/hematology.

  • JJ Buechner (Cinderella's Father)

    HE/HIM | JJ is excited to be back on the FST stage after appearing in Spring Awakening (Adult Male). He was last seen in SLOCs production of Spring Awakening (Adult Male 3). He was seen on FST’s stage many years ago in The Foreigner (Ellard), Guys and Dolls (Lt.   • Katherine Danforth-Hayes (Cinderella's Mother)

    SHE/HER | Katherine is a Hoosick Falls native and a graduate of SUNY Potsdam. She appeared in Fort Salem Theater's 2022 production of Pride and Prejudice (Mr Bennet/Charlotte) and the 2023 production of A Midsummer Night's Dream (Lysander). Other acting credits include Twelfth Night (Olivia), Othello (Cassio), Peter and the Starcatcher (Mrs Bumbrake), A Box of Monkeys (Mrs Ondego-Jones), and All's Well That Ends Well (Lafew) at Hubbard Hall in Cambridge, where she works as the Artistic and Administrative Associate. She has directed many teen and youth productions, including James and the Giant Peach Jr., Spoon River Anthology, And Then There Were None, Cinderella, Bugsy Malone, The Wizard of Oz, Little Women, Into the Woods, Oliver!, Schoolhouse Rock Live!, and The Play That Goes Wrong. Katherine lives in Hoosick Falls with her husband, rambunctious poodle, and three darling cats.

  • Tara Fox (Sleeping Beauty & U/S Little Red, Florinda, Lucinda, Rapunzel, Granny, Giant)

    Tara is from Ballston Lake, NY and has had the wonderful opportunity to work many local theater companies in the Capital Region including Home Made Theater (Sound of Music, Nunsense, and Young Frankenstein), SLOC (Wedding Singer), Glens Falls Community Theater (Urinetown), LAGS (Avenue Q and P-Town), and Not So Common Players (Nice Work if You Can Get It). When Tara is not on stage, she loves dressing up as a princess with Hill City Ice Queen Princess Parties. Tara loves being able to play Rapunzel, Anna, Ariel, Cinderella, and Tinkerbell with HCIQ and attending various events in the area. This is Tara's first experience working with Fort Salem Theater and is excited to be able to work with such a wonderful and talented cast of people.

  • Christine Geraci (Jack's Mother)

    SHE/HER | Christine is thrilled to debut at Fort Salem Theater in such a beautiful show. She has appeared in the Capital Region productions of Boeing, Boeing (Gabriella), Nine (Claudia), Brigadoon (Ensemble), and A Christmas Story (Mother), among others. She would like to thank her amazing family for all of their love and support.

  • Courtnie Harrington (The Baker's Wife, Hair & Wig Designer))

    SHE/HER | Courtnie is beyond thrilled to be journeying back into the woods after nine years! Courtnie is a Washington County native who trained at The Institute for American Musical Theater in New York City after graduating from Greenwich High School. While in NYC, she was the hair designer on Hudson Classical Theater’s productions of Pride and Prejudice (Lydia Bennet) and Sense and Sensibility (Charlotte Palmer). Recent credits include Songs for a New World (Woman 2) at SLOC and The Diary of Anne Frank (Edith Frank), Pride and Prejudice (Lizzy Bennet), Bright Star (Alice Murphy), I Love You Because (Marcy Fitzwilliams) and A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Peter Quince) all at Fort Salem Theater. Courtnie also originated the role of Kayla Charter in Solstice: A New Musical last May with Company of Curiosities.

    Courtnie has served on the production teams of numerous shows including The Murder or Roger Ackroyd (Stage Manager) with iTheatre Saratoga and Spring Awakening (Stage Manager/Hair Designer), Footloose (Director), Corn! (Lighting Designer), Pirates of Penzance (Stage Manager/Lighting Designer), and Agnes of God (Stage Manager) at Fort Salem. She will also be directing FST’s upcoming production of Godspell.

  • Henry James (The Baker)

    Henry has been performing for over 20 years, starting when he was just six years old. This is Henry’s first time exploring Sondheim, and he is so grateful to Fort Salem Theater for giving him the opportunity to play a role with so much depth and heart. Henry is new to the Capital Region and recently made his FST debut in A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Demetrius). Other previous performances include Urinetown the Musical (Bobby Strong), Pippin (Pippin), Spring Awakening (Melchior Gabor), and Newsies (Jack Kelly). Henry would like to dedicate this performance to his late mother, Joanna. Although this is his first performance without her, he knows with the support and love of his friends, family, and community that, truly, no one is alone."

  • Annaleigh Lester (Little Red)

    SHE/HER | Annaleigh Lester is excited and scared to be back into the woods for the third time, but for the first time at Fort Salem theatre! Annaleigh graduated in 2020 with a BFA in Musical Theatre from Western CT State Univ. and currently works as a peer mentor for young adults with developmental disabilities at The ARC Lexington Transition program in Fulton County. Past credits include, Cabaret (Sally Bowles), Schwartzy (25th Annual…Spelling Bee), Missy (The Marvelous Wonderettes) and was most recently seen as Anna in Spring Awakening this past January (SLOC). Thank you to the cast and creative team for another chance at one of her favorite shows and for the unending support from her family and friends always.

  • Sam Luke (Rapunzel's Prince)

    Sam returns to Fort Salem Theater after playing Dan in Next To Normal in 2021, followed by performances in The Diary of Anne Frank, and There’s No Busiress Like Snow Business. Most recently, he played Bill Sykes in a regional production of Oliver. Sam works as a professional singer, songwriter and guitarist in nightlife venues across New York and Vermont for the past several years. On stage, he has starred in Newsies (Jack Kelly), Damn Yankees (Mr. Applegate), The Wizard of Oz (Tin Man), and High School Musical (Troy Bolton). Sam has also performed as a stand-up comedian. He is a graduate of Cambridge High School and studied writing at SUNY Cortland.

  • Kevin N Miner (Cinderella's Prince/Wolf)

    HE/HIM/HIS | Kevin is from Glens Falls. He attended Queensbury where he participated in High School productions of Titanic: The Musical and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. He went to SUNY College at Brockport where he performed in Hair: The Tribal Rock Musical (Berger), The Katrina Monologues (Police Officer) KCACTF nominated, Midsummer Night’s Dream (Demetrius) KCACTF nominated, and was the rehearsal leader for the resident comedy improv troupe, Barrel of Monkeys. More locally, Kevin has performed in The Boys in the Band (Allen), Rocky Horror Picture Show (Rocky), The Man in the Brown Suit (Harry), An Evening with Poirot (Hastings), and most recently as Gomez in GFCT’s production of The Addams Family Musical. Outside of theater Kevin has been credited as a story writer for multiple short films, including the award winning Devour, and a music director for the short horror film, The Cabinet.

    This is Kevin’s first show with Fort Salem Theater, and he is incredibly grateful to be performing with this talented cast and crew. He wants to give special thanks to his parents and family for their unending love and supporf.

  • Luke Miner (Jack)

    HE/HIM | Luke is currently a junior at Salem Central School and intends to pursue a degree in music composition and performing arts. Luke has previously performed in The Sound of Music (Rolf Gruber), School House Rock Live JR (Bill & Interplanet Janet), Diary of Anne Frank (Collaborator), Little Shop of Horrors (Reporter), Shrek the Musical (Peter Pan), Grease (Eugene), Bright Star (Daryl Ames), Legally Blonde (Warner Huntington III), Footloose (Jeter), Pirates of Penzance (Pirate & Police Officer), Addams Family (Gomez Addams) Luke also took a year of improv, attended two years in Fort Salem’s teen Jazz Dance, and has performed with a German orchestra for the Salem Music Festival in 2023.

  • Megan Morse (Lucinda)

    Megan is thrilled to be back at Fort Salem after playing Columbia in The Rocky Horror show this past Fall! Other favorite roles include Veronica Sawyer in Heathers, Cathy in The Last Five Years, Suzy in The Marvelous Wonderettes, Cindy Lou in The Marvelous Wonderettes, and Sally in You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown. Megan wishes to dedicate this and every performance to her mother, Kathleen who inspired both her and her sisters love of musical theater. Megan is also elated to be sharing the stage with her sister, Kelly Sienkiewicz, in this one.

  • Kason Mulderry (The Steward)

    HE/HIM | Kason is excited to be making his Fort Salem Theater debut with Into the Woods! He only recently stepped back out into the world of music and theater and couldn't be more ecstatic. He was previously in Spring Awakening (Otto) with SLOC, Little Women (Rodrigo) and James and the Giant Peach (Centipede) with Stillwater HS Drama Club and The Addams Family (Dance Captain/Ensemble) with TAPS. Offstage, he can be found singing, learning various instruments and spending time with friends and family. He is thankful for his friends and family who continue to support him and everyone working on this production to help make this story come to life.

  • Iris Rogers (Cinderella)

    SHE/HER | Iris is a graduate of Purchase College Conservatory (2017) where she graduated with a Bachelor of Music with a focus in Operatic Studies and Vocal Performance. She has previously performed on the Fort Salem Theater stage in the productions of The Marvelous Wonderettes (Cindy Lou), Little Shop of Horrors (Audrey), Spring Awakening (Thea), The Pirates of Penzance (Kate), and There is No Business Like Snow Business 2022 & 2023. In her time at Purchase, she performed the roles of Hänsel in Hänsel und Gretel, Rebecca Nurse in The Crucible, and double cast as Arnalta and Nutrice in L'incoronazione di Poppea. In December of 2022, Iris musically directed her first show, Legally Blonde, quickly followed by The Lion King Junior, and The Rocky Horror Show here at FST. She also owns a local business in Hebron, (Homestead Hemp 1787) and is well known on TikTok for sharing mysterious stories about her family farm.

  • Lauren Schirnhofer (Snow White & U/S Baker’s Wife, Witch, Cinderella, Jack's Mother, Stepmother, Cinderella's Mother)

    Lauren is ecstatic to return to the woods with this incredible cast and creative team! She is an actor, singer, and teaching artist who has performed and taught throughout the U.S. and internationally, from Europe to South America! After receiving a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance from Boston Conservatory, Lauren studied theater at L’Ecole de Comédie Musicale in Paris, France. While in Europe, she taught English through music and theater, and had the honor to be in the French premieres of Edges, Ordinary Days, Song for a New World, Island Song, Next Thing You Know, and played Cinderella in the Switzerland premiere of Into the Woods at Théâtre Le Reflet in 2021. Now based in the Capital Region, she teaches at SPAC School of the Arts and from her home voice studio in Ballston Lake. She has had the joy of creating and collaborating with Curtain Call Theater (Ripcord), Saratoga Children's Theater (Disney's Descendants: The Musical), Adirondack Theater Festival (Pump Up the Volume), Homemade Theater (Peter Pan: A Musical Adventure), and is thrilled to add Fort Salem Theater with her all time favorite musical!

  • Elizabeth Sherwood-Mack (The Witch)

    SHE/HER | Elizabeth is a local actress and theatre creative. By day she serves as  the Assistant Theatre Coordinator for The Costumer, and in the evenings she trys to be involved in as much community theatre as possible. She has been seen in many productions throughout the Capital Region, and is so excited to be making her debut on the Fort Salem Theater stage. She was last seen onstage in SLOC’s production of Spring Awakening. Elizabeth enjoys all aspects of theatre. When not acting onstage, you can often find her working behind the scenes on a production's hair and makeup team. Favorite credits of hers include Beauty and the Beast (Mrs Potts), Dog Sees God (Marcy), and The Cake (Jen). Thank you to Brian, and our entire cast and crew for the opportunity to be a part of this stellar production. Elizabeth gives all her love and gratitude to her friends and family, for their constant support; without which this would not be possible.

  • Kelly Sienkiewicz (Florinda)

    SHE/HER | Kelly is elated to be returning to the Fort Salem stage after previously performing in The Rocky Horror Show (Usherette/Magenta, Co-Choreographer, Costumer) and The Pirates of Penzance (Isabel). She’s especially delighted to be sharing the stage with her sister, Megan again - this time as actual sisters! Other credits include Boeing, Boeing (Gretchen), The Revolutionists (Marie Antoinette), She Loves Me (Ilona), 9 to 5 (Judy), The Wild Party (Kate), Barefoot in the Park (Corie Bratter), Young Frankenstein (Inga), Hairspray (Velma Von Tussle), Mary Poppins (Mary Poppins), Jekyll & Hyde (Lucy), The Marvelous Wonderettes (Missy; Suzy, choreographer), Heathers (Heather Chandler, choreographer), Little Shop of Horrors (Audrey), Nunsense (Sister Mary Amnesia, choreographer), and Legally Blonde (Elle Woods). Kelly dedicates all of her performances in memory of her mother, Kathleen, who inspired her love of theatre.

Meet the Creative Team

  • Brian Clemente (Director, Lighting Designer)

    HE/HIM | Brian has worked as a Director and Assistant Director on a multitude of Professional, Community and Educational productions. At Fort Salem, he has directed Spring Awakening and will be returning this fall to helm Our Town. In the Capital Region, he has directed A Little Night Music, The Glorious Ones, Spring Awakening, The Wild Party and Dog Sees God, all at SLOC; Popcorn Falls and Erma Bombeck: At Wit’s End, at Curtain Call Theatre, where he also serves as Associate Producer. Favorite Professional credits include Assistant Directing for Stephen Hamilton on Angry Young Man at Urban Stages, and on the Guild Hall production of All My Sons starring Alec Baldwin and Laurie Metcalf. MFA in Theatre Directing from Stony Brook Southampton.

  • John Norine Jr (Music Director/Technical Director)

    HE/HIM | John is an award-winning Music Director and Technical Designer who hails from Utica, NY. He attended the Crane School of Music, graduating with a Bachelor of Music degree in Musical Studies before moving to the University of North Texas, where he earned both a Master’s degree and Doctorate of Musical Arts in Music Performance (Orchestral Conducting). Since 2005, he has been fortunate to work with many of the educational, community, and regional theaters in the Dallas/Fort Worth area in both a musical and technical role.

    When the Fort Salem Theater reopened in 2021, John was honored to be asked to work as a guest artist, music directing the first shows under the new ownership as well as working as technical director and designer for several productions. In April of 2022, John was named one of the inaugural Artistic Associates for Fort Salem Theater.

    Most recently, John worked as Music Director, Technical Director, and Light Designer for Fort Salem Theater's production of Little Shop of Horrors. Light/Sound Designer for Steel Magnolias, Pride and Prejudice (Light Design), Grease (Music Director, Light & Sound Design), Bright Star (Cello, Light & Sound Design), I Love You Because (Music Director/Technical Director), Agnes of God (Technical Director), and Lakeside (TX) Community Theatre’s production of Sweeney Todd (Music Director).

  • Margo Hatzel (Production Stage Manager)

    Margo received a BA in Theatre and Speech from Wagner College. Her professional theatre experience ranges from fully staged musicals to new script readings to traditional Shakespeare. Margo is thrilled to be back in the role of stage manager with Fort Salem Theater.

  • Melanie Magri (Assistant Stage Manager)

    Mel is a playwright, songwriter, and published poet excited to return to her musical theater roots with Fort Salem Theater. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Music and Music Business from Five Towns College where she graduated valedictorian of her class, and has worked in many facets of the arts both on and off stage. Mel wants to thank Margo Hatzel for bringing her along on this journey Into the Woods and getting the dream team back together!

  • Charles J.I. Krawczyk (Resident Scenic Designer)

    HE/HIM | Charles/Chuck is a well-rounded artist with experience in creative writing, HDR photography, graphic design and 3D rendering, improvisational piano, original song composition and scenic design for theater. While attending Southern Vermont College 2001-2005 (bachelor’s in liberal arts) he worked summers at Old Castle Theater in Bennington, VT (2000 to 2005) where he learned, by observation, the creative nuances of set design as he worked as a stagehand. Charles is currently the Resident Scenic Designer and an Artistic Associate for Fort Salem Theater where, in October 2021, he debuted a design for The Diary of Anne Frank. In the 2022 season, he went on to design: Little Shop of Horrors, Steel Magnolias, Pride and Prejudice, Grease, The Wizard of Oz: Youth Edition, Bright Star, I Love You Because, Spring Awakening, You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown, Footloose, The Little Mermaid Jr., The Pirates of Penzance, The Rocky Horror Slow, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream, along with designing Grant’s Ghost for Hubbard Hall on the side. Charles has also directed Shakespeare’s Titus Andronicus in 2004 at his then-former High School, and The Glass Menagerie at Southern Vermont College in 2009.

    Prior to his work at Fort Salem Theater, Charles has over eight years of set design experience, artistic/stage directing, assistant directing and serving as a theatrical creative-solutions consultant (for a local high school drama club). Shows he has designed there include: The Diary of Anne Frank (2007), Once Upon a Mattress, Rumors, The Importance of Being Earnest, Beauty and the Beast, Into the Woods, Twelve Angry Jurors, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, And Then There Were None, The Sound of Music, Noises Off, Shrek the Musical, and ended his run there with The Mousetrap (2015).

    After taking some time away from theatrical design Charles feels truly thankful and honored to reignite his passion for design at Fort Salem Theater and is very honored to have helped design Grant’s Ghost for Hubbard Hall’s current presentation. Charles is presently looking forward to contributing more in the near future as he gears up for Fort Salem’s 2023 season.

  • JJ Paul (Properties Designer)

    SHE/HER | is excited to be returning to Fort Salem this time on the production side. She is an alumna of Syracuse University where she minored in Acting. While J.J. performs on stage, she also enjoys working behind the scenes. Recent property design credits include: Spring Awakening (SLOC), A Little Night Music (SLOC), A Funny Thing….Forum (NSCP) (Co-Designer), The Glorious Ones (SLOC), and Wild Party (SLOC). She is excited to be preparing for her newest role as Mrs. Alojipan. CMA thanks for Tuesday.

  • Gina Kowalski (Costume Designer)

    Gina is a local costume designer and owner of her small sewing business, Happily Ever Apparel. She is thrilled to be working with Fort Salem Theater for the second time! Gina resides in Malta with her husband and their three amazing children (who are all turning into theater lovers!) She has costumed so many shows that she has lost count, and she has also appeared on the stage with Bunbury Players and Galway Players.

  • Kyle West (Producer, Executive & Artistic Director)

    HE/HIM | Kyle has three decades of creating award-winning theatre under his belt, working as a producer, director, choreographer, designer, and performer. His work has been seen all across the US, from Cape Cod, to Boston, Arizona and Dallas, to New York and has been recognized by the AriZoni Awards of Excellence, BroadwayWorld Awards, Column Awards, Annie Award, MET Awards, and MHSDG Awards, among others.

    Best known for creating larger-than-life musicals, some of Kyle’s credits include Hairspray, Next to Normal, Evita, White Christmas, I Love You Because, Fiddler on the Roof, Guys and Dolls, The Music Man, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, A Man of No Importance, West Side Story, Footloose, Into the Woods, RENT, The Rink, The Boyfriend, Schoolhouse Rock Live, Little Shop of Horrors, A Chorus Line, Chicago, Grease, La Cage aux Folles, The World Goes ‘Round, Cabaret, Pirates of Penzance, My Favorite Year, Annie, and Fame.

    At Fort Salem Theater, he has directed and choreographed Salem Under The Stars, The Marvelous Wonderettes, Next to Normal, There’s No Business Like Snow Business, Grease, and The Pirates of Penzance, and has designed costumes for FST’s Pride & Prejudice , Grease, and Bright Star. He recently made his FST onstage debut in The Rocky Horror Show.

    Kyle is humbled to be the executive and artistic director of Fort Salem Theater, and in June 2023, was named one of the Top 10 New York State LGBTQ+ Leaders by I ❤️ NY.

    Mike received his degree in Computer Science from Rutgers University. He is a professional photographer, part time ski instructor, and the executive director of Salem Art Works. He i is excited to be working with Fort Salem Theater on another wonderful production as resident photographer.

  • Jessica Sisti (Pianist)

    Jess is making her Fort Salem Pit debut in Into The Woods! She is an avid pianist (since she was five years old!) and Reed 1 player (She started Alto Sax in the 5th grade!) in various pits across the state! More recently, in the Capitol Region, she was in the pits for SLOC’s Spring Awakening, Matilda (pianist), and CP’s Not So Common Players Little Shop of Horrors! (Reed 1)! Jess has played in pit orchestras for schools and community theaters and acted on stage all across NY since she was 12 years old! Jess was even in the production of SLOC’s It Shoulda Been You (Jenny) in 2023!! By day, she is the 4-6 Elementary Band Director at Lansingburgh CSD! She’s additionally the district’s pianist!! Jess holds a BA and MA in Music Education from SUNY Fredonia and is working on her Doctorate in Education at the University of Buffalo! Jess is enthralled to be involved with Fort Salem for the first time and would like to thank Into The Woods's cast, staff, and crew for being such a fun bunch of people to work with! She would also like to thank her fiance, Peter (the trumpet player for this production!!!), for being her rock in every avenue of her life, her fellow musician in varying pits, and for being the reason she got back into the theater!
